2015 Hair and Beauty trends ……

We have researched and hand picked the best trends for 2015, speak to our stylists and beauty therapists for help and advice to achieve these key looks so get inspired……

2015 highly features the ‘coming of the undone styles’. Forget hours of blowdrying and straightening to perfection now its all about movement, loose curls and creating an effortless look -not to say that these looks wont require styling. Textured, messy, undone natural movement is key to staying on trend this year.

“The just done look” with minimum effort is bang on trend even if in reality it requires a little more time and skill to perfect!

Great products and a great cut are essential to achieving this look, natural curls can be enhanced with products to create the just done look but don’t worry if your not blessed with a natural wave or your mane needs taming. GHD’s new curve curling range are just the tool needed, speak to our stylists today about the best GHD curve solution for you and the most suitable products for your hair type.

The catwalks were also filled with bohemian, deconstructed braids and plaits with plenty of free hair falling round the face. Tigi dry shampoo is the perfect product for achieving such styles together with Tigi shine spray and Tigi Masterpiece hairspray.

Be creative and experiment different techniques such as combining multiple plaits into one and pulling plaits apart to create texture.

The other key look was highly gelled/ wet looking hair pulled back off the face. This compliments the 2015 simple make up look with flawless dewy skin and one key dramatic feature – eyes or lips.

Regular facials, stay young treatments and microdermabrasion treatments will give you a beautifully clear complexion . Book an appointment with our beauty therapist and also discuss our dermalogica skin care range which will be tailored to your skins requirements.

Colour Trends

Ombre is OUT and super rich shades of block colour with bolder highlights and strong channels of colour running through the hair are the way to go. The feel is more 1990’s and the use of bolder highlights will create texture and a softness to the hair.

Baby lights add dimension to your hair with minimum upkeep.

Tip – if you have a pink tone to your skin or a darker complexion then cool tones will suit you. If your complexion has warmer tones or you tan easily then golden shades will work best for you.

Speak to out stylists about the best colour choice for you.

Mens Hair – Texture, texture and more texture.

Shorter sides with longer hair on top with volume and natural wave to create a styled yet natural look. Ask your Room 8 stylist for a grade 2-4 round the sides or alternatively scissor over comb for a softer effect.

The best way to achieve this look is with freshly washed hair using a shampoo and conditioner which will add more volume then finger dry your hair to create volume and root lift where needed. Use a texturising paste to create or enhance your natural movement. Alternatively, you can gel or hair back for a more sophisticated look.

Products are key to this trend so pop in to view our range of mens Tigi bed head shampoos, conditioners and styling products.

Tigi Charge it up shampoo and conditioner are great for adding volume to your hair together with Tigi Pure Texture moulding paste or Tigi Power Play firm gel .The perfect products to create high performance quiffs and textured layers to last you all day.

January 2015 Open Day

Our artistic and creative team worked really hard this year and as a result we held one the best open days so far.

In 2014 we celebrated our 25th year anniversary, so accordingly, this year’s open day theme was icons from the 1980’s to the present time. From Tina Turner to Frozen’s Elsa, our models hair and make up reflected our icons image with music and backdrops to match.

As well as our fabulous models and catwalk show, clients enjoyed entertainment in the form of a 1980’s -1990’s disco outside with Malibu Discos and live music performed by the very talented Liam White. Last but by no way least, our very own Mr Keith Pascoe thrilled and entertained in the disguise of Adam Ant from the famous ‘Stand and Deliver’ single, this was indeed the highlight of the show!

All in all our 2015 Open day was great fun and huge success and we like to say a massive thank you to all our clients for their ongoing support and we look forward to celebrating another year in the industry in January 2016 open day. Please look at our gallery for more pictures.
